Firstly I hope that you are all well in these most difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. So many of you are experiencing a second wave at the moment which seems even more challenging that the first. I send my best wishes to all your members at this time.
As you know, the 5th European Region -World Physiotherapy Congress in Leuven this September had to be converted to an online Congress. I am sorry that we will not be meeting in person but safety has to come first.
Below is an outline of the online Congress – The Scientific Committee has done a fantastic job in organising a diverse and exciting programme. There is something for everyone – educators, researchers, managers, clinicians and students.
Some Member Organisations have been very creative in supporting the Congress e.g. Spain sponsored a number of places to offer its members, some MOs asked their Subgroups to sponsor a place or places.
I would ask you to continue to promote the Congress and encourage your members to sign-up for it and please feel free to forward this email to all your members, workplace contacts, universities and educational institutes.

World Physiotherapy European Region – 5th Congress on line – Don’t miss the opportunity to attend
While we are sorry that we cannot meet in Leuven for the 5th European Region – World Physiotherapy Congress – there are many advantages in having a specially designed online platform. This is what our first online conference has to offer (see further down for more details):
- It can be accessed by all physiotherapists wherever you are – special and reduced rates for members of Member Organisations and for Students

The online platform will be launched on the 11th of September 2020. It will have the same content as the in-person version and will be accredited for participation.
After the launch on 11th September, all presentations will be available for viewing via an on-line platform which will be visible to registered participants until the 31st of January 2021.
Question and Answer sessions: There will be the opportunity to put questions to presenters (from 11th to the 18th September) and to view the Q&A sessions with the Keynote speakers and Focused Symposia on the platform from 28th September onwards.

V prvomrade dúfam, že sa vám všetko darí v týchto najťažších časoch pandémie COVID-19. Toľko z vás momentálne zažíva druhú vlnu, ktorá sa zdá byť ešte náročnejšia ako tá prvá. Všetkým vašim členom v tejto chvíli posielam všetko najlepšie.
Ako viete, 5. september európskeho regiónu – svetový fyzioterapeutický kongres v Lovani, ktorý sa mal konať v septembri tohto roku, sa musel konvertovať na online kongres. Je mi ľúto, že sa nebudeme osobne stretávať, ale bezpečnosť musí byť na prvom mieste.
Ďalej je uvedený prehľad online kongresu – Vedecký výbor odviedol skvelú prácu pri organizovaní rozmanitého a vzrušujúceho programu. Je tu niečo pre každého – pedagógov, výskumných pracovníkov, manažérov, lekárov aj študentov.
Niektoré členské organizácie boli veľmi kreatívne pri podpore kongresu, napr. Španielsko sponzorovalo niekoľko miest, ktoré ponúkajú svojim členom, niektoré MO požiadali svoje podskupiny, aby sponzorovali miesto alebo miesta.
Chcel by som vás požiadať, aby ste naďalej propagovali Kongres a povzbudzovali svojich členov, aby sa doň prihlásili. Tento e-mail môžete pokojne preposlať všetkým vašim členom, kontaktom na pracovisku, univerzitám a vzdelávacím ústavom.
Ďakujem, že ste si našli čas na propagáciu a podporu Kongresu, to si veľmi vážim.
